detailsCommonly called a False Widow spider because of it's similarity to Black Widows. The "lace" nest alongside will hold up to 40 eggs which the mother guards and when the offspring hatch they devour the mother before moving off. Thanks for viewing

Macro work is so fickle right? This must be the ultimate in motherly "dead"ication! Very interesting subject. I wish the black areas showed a bit more detail, and this area of the egg sack . What can you share about the settings used in this shot?
